A passion flower gift with real meaning

When Jo Barham from our Hockley office visited a client last week to carry out a property appraisal she made comment about the wonderful wall of greenery just about to bloom into colour. Here is what happened next.
A passion flower gift with real meaning
We were delighted to welcome the client who lived in the property which Jo visited into our office today, and she presented her with the first flower of the season which she had tenderly created into a wonderful corsage. The lady also explained the interesting religious story associated with the gift.

The flower is purple, the colour of the season of Lent.

The five sepals and five petals: the ten apostles present with Jesus during his passion (excluding Peter and Judas, the former who denied Jesus three times and the latter who betrayed him to the Romans)

The three stigma: the three nails that held Jesus to the cross.

The five anthers: the five wounds of Jesus (hands, feet and side)

The filaments: the crown of thorns

The leaves with three points: the Holy Trinity

The vine: God's attachment to the earth

The golden fruit which follows the flowers; represents the planet earth
