An overview of the SS5 property market by Jo Barham

Jo Barham who is based at our Hockley branch collates the house market data in the SS5 post code to produce a monthly overview for clients deciding on the best time to list their properties for sale. Here is the January 2024 data for your information.

What an unexpected twist to the January property market, the positive media spin on the HSBC fixed rate mortgage deal and subsequent similar rate decisions by other lenders created an early month rush of applicants registering to buy, increased viewings and most importantly sales being agreed.

Since then it was more of the same right through January, a marked improvement on the November & December data.

We now prepare for fewer dark nights, some bright daffodils and Easter, all perfect components for the traditional Spring property market bounce!
