Autumn Glows and Spring Blues in Gusted Hall
Did you know nearly half the world’s bluebells grow right here in the UK? Every spring, Hockley’s Gusted Hall Woods is transformed into a breathtaking blue carpet. While these beauties are legally protected, the woods offer seasonal magic year-round—from vibrant spring blooms to the glowing orange hues of autumn.
DID YOU KNOW that almost half of the world’s bluebells are thought to grow right here in the UK and every Spring, we get a special treat as a carpet of bluebells appear in Gusted Hall Woods in Hockley.
And those beautiful bluebells are best left exactly where they are. Wild bluebells are protected by law, making it illegal to intentionally uproot them from the countryside.
So next spring, when Gusted Hall Woods turns blue again, take a photo, enjoy the view and leave the flowers for everyone else to enjoy too. It’s also pretty special during the other seasons especially shortly as the Autumn colours add a glow of orange to the walkways
